Hays County Clerk services are now offered at a recently opened substation in Kyle.
With the northward move residents now have access to almost all county clerk services at a location other than in San Marcos, officials said. The substation is located at the Hays County Precinct 2 complex on FM 2770.
“With the opening of a substation at the Precinct 2 Office in Kyle, we’re bringing County Clerk services more conveniently to residents of Hays County,” said Hays County Clerk Liz Gonzalez in a statement. “We realize that it can be difficult for some individuals to drive all the way to San Marcos and we’re pleased we can offer our primary services at an additional location.”
San Marcos is the Hays County seat, and offering clerk services outside of that city is a first in the county’s history.
The Kyle substation offers the same services as the main office, but with a few exceptions, Gonzalez said.
“We’re not able to offer plat map printing or Issuance of writs at the Kyle office, and only credit and debit cards are accepted there,” she said. “But, our most popular services, such as marriage licenses, vital statistics and citation issuance, as well as many others, are all available.”
The substation is located in the Hays County Precinct 2 building at 5458 FM 2770 in Kyle, and can be reached at (512) 393-7330. Office hours are from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
