Mattie Louise “Mattie Pat” Labenski, 93, of Buda, passed away February 8, 2013. She was born July 11, 1919 in Dripping Springs to parents Arthur and Pauline Patton. In 1921, at the age of two, she moved to Buda. She was married to Cecil Tom Labenski on November 16, 1960. Mattie was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Mattie owned and operated a beauty shop on Main Street in Buda for 37 years. She taught Sunday school for many years at the First Baptist Church.
Her family’s history was richly rooted in and integral to the heritage and development of the Hays County community.

Graveside services were held on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Live Oak Cemetery on Twin Creeks Road in Manchaca.
