Heart of Texas (H.O.T.) Chorus turns 19
San Marcos’ own Heart of Texas (H.O.T.) Chorus will celebrate its 19th birthday with performances by the chorus and top-rated quartet, Sterling, an audience sing along, refreshments and a H.O.T. birthday cake. Another reason for celebration - the chorus competed against groups from Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana, earning the right to advance to the Barbershop Harmony Society’s International Quartet and Chorus Contest next July in Toronto. There, they will compete with choruses from around the globe, in what has been called the World Series of barbershop harmony singing. This will be the chorus’ ninth trip to the International Contest stage. Join the party at 7 p.m. March 7 in Room 222 of the Texas State University Music Building.
