Become a Master Wellness Volunteer

SUBMITTED REPORT

Since 1906, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service has provided Texans with guidance in various health areas. The agency is now training volunteers to provide more communities with the education and tools needed for healthy living. The Master Wellness Volunteer program will provide volunteers with 40 hours of training in health and nutrition education.  In return, the volunteers agree to give back 40 hours of service. The volunteer opportunities include presentations for community groups, assisting with cooking schools and attending health fairs.  The Hays County training will be held on Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 5, 12, 19, May 3 and 10 in San Marcos. The deadline for applications is March 22. The cost is $60, which covers training materials, volunteer screening, and lunch refreshments. Visit  http://haysfcs.blogspot.com for more information.
