Brodie Kenneth Parker, age 33, of Kyle, Texas passed away on December 27, 2012. He was born on April 4, 1979, and was formerly of Cooper City, Florida and Lake Ronkonkoma, New York.
Brodie was active in sports his entire life and had a special love for football. He obtained a full academic and athletic scholarship to Elmhurst College in IL. He married his childhood sweetheart Kristy on July 21, 2001. They relocated to San Marcos where Brodie attended (then named) Southwest Texas State and earned his teaching certificate.
He began at Hays CISD that year and taught history at Barton Middle School and most recently Dahlstrom Middle School. He was also a coach for many years.
On March 3, 2008, Brodie and Kristy had their only child, Katherine Lynne Parker. His love of life and passion for educating children made him the happiest person. He will always be remembered and missed by all.
Brodie is survived by his wife, Kristy and daughter, Katherine Parker, both of Kyle; mother, Margaret Parker of Cooper City, FL.; father and step-mother, Robert and Elaine Parker of Port Saint Lucie, FL.; brother, Brian Parker and wife, Alicia of Huntley, IL.; step-siblings, Carl and Karen Ligner; nephews, Rowan and Caen Parker of Huntley, IL.; niece, Shianne Patrick of Minden, LA.; mother-in-law, Ellen Patrick of Dallas; brother-in-law, Joe Patrick and wife, Lyne of Dallas; also survived by countless aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Brodie was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Dennis Patrick; grandparents, Kenneth and Delores Parker & William and Sarah Hoffman.
A celebration of his life was held on Tuesday, January 1, 2013.
