Welcome to the year 2013. A little hard to remember to write the New Year; but hey, we will get it together. Sure that the kids love having another week of holiday vacation. Schools resume on Monday, Jan. 7.

Members of the Manchaca Onion Creek Historical Association (MOCHA) are currently working on a book about the Manchaca area and are in need of pictures, particularly pictures of the Manchaca Black School that was originally on FM 1626 where Railroad BBQ is now. They are searching for someone to interview who knew about the school. MOCHA also would like the public to know that they have a 2013 calendar “Memories of Manchaca” for sale for $5.
