HAYS CISD -- A new elementary school in Buda's Sunfield development is scheduled to open in August 2022.
The Hays CISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved a total budget of $38.48 million for construction with contractor Bartlett-Cocke. The school is expected to serve as many as 900 students with the average classroom size at 19 for pre-K through first grade and 28 for second through fifth grade classrooms.
