Argie Lou Hall (1940-2013)

The angels came for our precious “Gigi” age 72, on Wednesday, February 13th, 2013, in Driftwood, Texas. She was born Argie Lou Hall on March 6th, 1940 to L.F. and Louella Hall, who both preceded her in death. She attended Buda High School, graduating in 1958. She spent a busy 32 years at the Texas Highway Department, retiring in 1994. She is survived by husband Sonny Hibbs, brothers Laurel and wife Lynn and Larry Hall of Driftwood, daughters Kim Straub and husband Joe of Austin, Karen Conrado and husband Alexander Cone of Austin, two stepsons Stan and Jim Hibbs of Elgin, grandchildren Aaron and Ethan Conrado, Jake, Jessica, and Justin Straub, two nieces and their families, three step-grandsons, one step-grand-daughter, and three step-great-grandchildren.

Gigi enjoyed sewing and vacuuming, “piddling” in the garden, caring for her “critters” (as she called them), the little town of Driftwood, her cabin in Pagosa Springs, and above all else, cherished time spent with her family. She was extremely proud of her southern heritage and loved to camp with family and friends annually at the Camp Ben McCulloch Confederate Reunion, which she attended all 72 years of her life. Gigi admired and thought the world of her husband, and was crazy about (and so proud of) her grandkids and loved keeping up with all that they were doing. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor and heart of gold. She was a little ball of fire and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services were held Sunday, February 17, 2013 at the Driftwood Church in “downtown Driftwood,” just down the road from her home. In lieu of flowers, she would have loved for you to direct all contributions to either the Driftwood (United Methodist) Church, Driftwood Community Center, or Driftwood Cemetery at P.O. Box 159, Driftwood, Texas 78619.
