Hays Boys Soccer defeated Giddings on Friday night 2-1. Giddings opened it up with a goal early in the first half. A few minutes later, with the ball bouncing around in the Giddings penalty area, Christian Chavez buried the equalizer. That goal would tie the score at 1-1 going into halftime. Halfway through the second half, Christian Varela scored the go-ahead goal off a header from a Chris Humphries 40-yard direct kick.
