A one-vehicle crash into a utility pole on Post Road claimed the life of a 19-year-old San Marcos man on Tuesday, Dec. 25.
David A Whitlock, (DOB 07/10/1993), of 210 Buttercup Ln. in San Marcos, was airlifted to University Medical Center at Brackenridge in Austin where he later died.
The wreck occurred around 10:40 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 25, in the 1800 block of Post Road. Whitlock was driving northbound when his 2003 Chevy Cavalier left the roadway and struck a utility pole. He was alone in the car.
Emergency units set up a landing zone at Travis Elementary School where a helicopter landed and flew him to Brackenridge.
The San Marcos Police Collision Investigation Team is continuing its investigation. This was the 13th traffic fatality in 2012 in San Marcos.
