STAFF REPORT

Two-way access roads will be a thing of the past for Kyle.

Access roads along Interstate   35 will change from two-way to one-way beginning April 9.

The change will take effect along the interstate in Kyle, between FM 1626 (Kyle Parkway) and FM 150 (Center Street). The west side access road traffic will move southbound, following the flow of IH-35, and motorists will travel northbound only on the eastern access road.

“These safety and mobility improvements will help traffic move more smoothly and help prevent wrecks and near-wrecks caused by vehicles traveling both ways on each side of the interstate,” Hays County Pct. 2 Commissioner Mark Jones said. “The access roads will now be in line with access roads along the rest of IH-35 in Hays County, which are already one-way.”

Motorists are reminded to use extreme caution until drivers in the area become used to the change.
