Buda 4-H member competes in invitational barrel racing competition

On Oct. 10, Kaitlyn Eben, a member of the Buda 4-H Club, competed in an invitation-only challenge in barrel racing at the State Fair of Texas in Dallas. The event, The Big Tex 4 X 4 Chute Out, consisted of the top 10 4-H’ers from Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Louisiana, as selected by the state 4-H office, who had the opportunity to compete for a 4-state championship title. The top five will compete in the finals for cash prizes including $1,000 added money per event and buckles. Kaitlyn placed third in the long go which landed her in the finals. She ended up placing second overall in the finals. (Courtesy photo)
