Brick Parker and Aaron Barlow of Boy Scout Troop 967 diligently stack pumpkins at the Buda United Methodist pumpkin patch. The boy scout troop is sponsored by BUMC. The church uses the patch as a fellowship, with children and adults alike decorating, unloading pumpkins, greeting and reading to school children. Proceeds from the pumpkin sales are used for Hays and Lehman high scholarships, Project Graduation funds for Lehman and Hays high schools, BUMC food pantry needs, and financial assistance to other church missions, such as the children’s ministry and evangelism.
