Some of the state's best powerlifters put their efforts on display Feb. 4 as Lehman High hosted a tri-meet, the second of three home meets the Lobo powerlifting team will host this season. That list includes 15 Lady Lobo powerlifting athletes who rank 5th or better in the state in their respective weight classes. All told, six Lady Lobo powerlifters lead the state by an average of 121 pounds, with four lifters ranked in second place. At the Feb. 4 meet, the Lehman girls powerlifting team had 10 athletes win first place and six boys powerlifters claiming the gold in their weight classes. Also participating at the meet were the Hays powerlifting teams and the teams from Killeen Ellison. Lehman's next powerlifting meet is Feb. 13. The Texas High School Women's Powerlifting Association State Meet will be held in March in Corpus Christi.
