Buda Dental wants to buy back candy


Friday Nov. 1, Buda Dental Professionals in downtown Buda will buy back your Halloween sweets between the hours of 3 and 6 p.m. Drop off your unopened candy and get $1 per pound. The candy will be shipped overseas to our military troops. You can also enter your name in a drawing for a $100 Toys “R” Us gift card. 


 


Walk to end Alzheimer’s


The Alzheimer’s Association Capital of Texas Chapter will host its fifth annual Hays County Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Register to walk as an individual, a team or  just donate to support the cause. Registration and check-in begins at 8 a.m., the walk begins at 9 a.m. Nov. 2 at the City Park Recreation Hall, located behind the Lion’s Club Tube Rental. Visit act.alz.org/hays13 to register.  



YMCA hosts free healthcare reform seminars


Austin-area residents who have questions about the Affordable Care Act are invited to YMCA of Austin locations this fall for a free healthcare reform seminar. Attendees can learn more about purchasing health insurance on the Federal Exchange, determine whether they or their family can qualify for a health care subsidy, and get their health insurance questions answered by an Affordable Care Act Education and Enrollment Expert. Snacks will be provided. Seminar takes place from 7-8 p.m. Nov. 6 at the Hays Communities location at Buda Sportsplex. 



Veteran’s Appreciation Breakfast


Join the Buda Chamber of Commerce for the fifth Annual Veteran’s Appreciation Breakfast at 9:30 a.m.  Nov. 8 at Falcon International Bank in Buda. Veterans will receive door prizes. RSVP to [email protected].
