Hector Rosales, 60, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Dec. 20, 2013. He passed away peacefully in his home in Buda, Texas. Hector was born Feb. 16, 1953 in Mission, Texas before moving to the Austin/Buda area where he met his wife, Connie Rosales, of 24 years. Hector was a very proud father of five children, Margaret, Matthew, Jeremy, Hector Jr. (along with Melynda) and Monette.

He is survived by his mother, Maria Rosales, nine siblings and their families; Martha & John Barrow, Frank Rosales, Dolina & Arnold McLaughlin, Corina Reaume, Edward Rosales, Roy & Frances Rosales, Diana Rosales, Steve Rosales and Lora & Darren Long. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Meleyna, Alicia and Zachary, who knew him as Pee-Paw, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a master auto body repair technician and took great pride in restoring “total collisions”, jet skis, boats, motorcycles, cars and anything else with a body. Hector was an avid lifelong fisherman and was able to fulfill a final wish by going to the coast last month. A great passion of Hector’s was creating a beautiful, relaxing environment in his garden, in which he took much pride.
Hector was very well known as an active volunteer in the Hays community. He was the recipient this year of the Lifetime Volunteer Achievement Award from Hays CISD. He took great pride in making a difference in the lives of teachers, staff and students. His efforts and contributions have left an impact that will last a lifetime.
We would like to thank our extended family for the tremendous amount of love and support that has been shown to Team Hector throughout this journey. Special thanks to the entire staff of CTMC Hospice for their guidance and compassion and for turning this difficult time in our lives into an experience of love, strength and support. We would also like to thank our Lehman family for walking with us through this year. Your faithful support and strength has helped us through many rough times, as well as celebrate the good times.
Hector is most proud of his greatest accomplishment throughout his life, raising his family! He would brag about the amazing job he has done in raising his family to anyone who would listen. He may rest in peace knowing his work here as a father has been a great success, leading his children on the right path in life.
