Students from Texas State University’s Human-Environmental-Animal-Team (H.E.A.T.), an activist organization, visited Kyle’s Hemphill Elementary School Friday to distribute toys to about 200 students.
Andrea Villalobos (in Santa hat), a senior at Texas State, is a former Hemphill student. She encouraged her fellow H.E.A.T. members to select Hemphill because she knew there were students who may otherwise not have such a good Christmas. Going room to room, H.E.A.T. students distributed teddy bears to Pre-K students and toys for older children. They also spent some time talking with the recipients who were very happy with their new gifts.
