Hays cadet awarded $180k scholarship at Change of Command

Hays High Marine Corps Junior ROTC senior Jacob Cullen was the highlight of the evening April 28 when he was awarded a $180,000 scholarship from the national ROTC program. For the second straight year, a Hays student was awarded the honor, given to the top 5 percent of applicants nationwide. During the annual event, the JROTC held its Change of Command Ceremony, as senior Cadet Lt. Col. Carla Huffman turned over command of the unit to junior Cadet Major Sydney Zapalac.
