Can you hear me now?

New poles needed in downtown Kyle at Center & Main after truck gets stuck on a wire.

A beer delivery truck driving down Center St. in Kyle on Thursday got hooked onto a low hanging telephone wire; it appears this truck did not bring down the wire in the first place. The truck turned off onto Main St. to await Verizon crews and the Kyle Fire Dept.

The Kyle Fire Dept. temporarily blocked off the intersection.

The pole was already leaning; after a line got stuck on a passing vehicle, it leaned even further toward the street. Verizon officials on site said the pole, and the one up the sidewalk from it, are just old and need to be replaced.

Verizon had crews out Friday morning replacing two old poles on Center St. in Kyle following an incident Thursday afternoon where a passing truck got hung up on a low hanging wire.
