Jerry Evelyn Sellers Garrison passed away Saturday, April 13, 2013. Born June 7, 1937 in Quemado, Texas to Chester O. Sellers and Mona Rice Sellers. Jerry graduated from Kennedy High School, Kennedy, Texas, where she was a twirler in the marching band. She subsequently attended Victoria Jr. College and Southwest Texas in San Marcos before meeting and marrying her husband, James Garrison. Jerry and James were married on August 6, 1960. Their union was blessed with a son, Jim Garrison.
Jerry and James relocated to Kyle in 1966, where they established a 3000 acre cattle operation. Jerry, was a Past President of Beefmasters Breeders Universal Women, and was also recognized as “Woman of the Year” by BBU. Jerry maintained a very close relationship with her girlfriends from her high school graduating class. This group, known as “The Girls” has met each October and enjoyed the many activities and trips that Jerry planned .
She is survived by her loving husband James, son Jim, Aunt Triba Escheberger, Uncle Henry Rice and numerous friends.
Jerry has been a life long and faithful member of the United Methodist Church. A Memorial Service was held Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Driftwood United Methodist Church.
