DRIPPING SPRINGS — Dripping Springs ISD (DSISD) is still in the game for the Town Center Project.
During the early hours of Tuesday, April 27, the Board of Trustees approved a property sales agreement with the city of Dripping Springs located on Mercer Street for the construction of a Town Center. This portion of land is known as the Administration Property.
“We support the Town Center Project,” said Board President Barbara Stroud. “There have been various events that have occurred over time. It hasn’t changed our commitment to the project.”
The May 2020 Interlocal Agreement was recently terminated in March after several parties requested to end it. DSISD and the city of Dripping Springs continued informal discussions regarding the sale of district property.
Stroud said the approved property sales agreement has outlined the written assurances that the district wanted.
“Our goal in conveying the property to the city of Dripping Springs is so that it will be a Town Center,” Stroud said. “I think we have tried to be consistent in saying that what we need in order to convey the property are written assurances that it will be a Town Center.”
Trustee Ron Jones clarified that DSISD is not donating the property, rather they are going through due process to determine fair market value.
