DRIPPING SPRINGS -- Students at Dripping Springs Elementary (DSE) and Sycamore Springs Elementary (SSE) will have new principals soon.
During the April 26 meeting, the Dripping Springs ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved Jamie Eubanks as the principal of Dripping Springs Elementary and Kirsten Bloomfield as the principal of Sycamore Springs.
For the past four years, Eubanks has served as the assistant principal and bilingual contact for students and families at DSE. She previously served as principalĀ of East Austin College Prep School after one year as an instructional facilitator there; Eubanks started her career as a Spanish teacher at Lake Travis High School from 2007 to 2015, after two years in a similar role at New Braunfels High School.
"I am excited about this wonderful opportunity to serve our school community to which I feel deeply connected,” Eubanks said in a district statement. “I am eager to continue leading alongside such amazing staff, students and parents to provide an exceptional educational experience for every student who walks through our doors."
Bloomfield will be transferring to Dripping Springs from Douglas County, Colorado, where she has served as principal of Iron Horse Elementary for the past five years. She previously served at Pioneer Elementary in the same district as an assistant principal and instructor.
"I am thrilled to have been named as the new principal of Sycamore Springs Elementary School,” Bloomfield said. “I can't wait to begin developing strong relationships and bonds with the staff, students, and families at SSE. I am looking forward to a fantastic year."
Eubanks will transition into her new role immediately as current DSE principal Kellie Raymond will open the new Cypress Springs Elementary. Bloomfield is expected to start her new position in June.
