DSHS track athletes advance to UIL State

Four Dripping Springs High School (DSHS) track athletes qualified for the UIL Conference 5A State Championships.

Coleman Chapman won the regional championship in the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 38.57 to earn a state berth. Caleb Lopez came away with a regional title in the mile with a time of 4:16.50.

Maddie Livingston was the first Tiger to punch a ticket to state after finishing second in the 3,200 meter with a time of 10:54.73. Kate Ginther posted the fastest time among third-place finishers at a regional meet in the 800 meter to earn an at-large bid to the state competition after timing 2:14.04.



All four athletes will be making their first appearance at the state track meet. The meet will be held Friday, May 7, at Mike A. Myers Stadium on the University of Texas campus in Austin.
