Beatrice Machetta Jackson, age 93 of Stratford, formerly of Darien, beloved wife of 65 years to the late John Kendall Jackson died peacefully on April 30, 2013. Born in Chicopee, Kansas, she was the daughter of the late John and Maria Demichelis Machetta. She graduated with a degree in education from Pittsburgh State College in Pittsburgh, Kansas, where she taught elementary school. She was a Vice President of Life Study Fellowship of Darien where she worked for over 40 years and retired at age 86. She was a former shortstop softball player before and during WWII.
Survivors include her two sons John K. Jackson II of Buda, Atty. Thomas K. Jackson and wife Deborah of Trumbull, five grandchildren; John K. Jackson III and his wife Kathy, Krista Scott and husband John, Courtney Forde and husband Jeffrey, Sean Jackson and Kaitlyn Jackson all of Texas, four great-grandchildren; Aaron, Emily, Dylan and Kyla, a sister Rosalie Castagno and husband Paul of Kentucky, several nieces and nephews.
