19-year-old Buda man in critical condition after weekend wreck

A Sunday morning wreck on FM 1626 near FM 2770 (Jack C. Hays Trail) has left one person in the hospital.

The head-on collision occurred Sunday morning. Buda Fire Department was called to the scene at 6:48 a.m. and responded by 6:51 a.m.

A car, driven by 19-year-old Nathan Bloys, collided with a truck, driven by 39-year-oldĀ  John Botello. Both drivers are from Buda.

The collision occurred near the Painted Horse Pavilion. Bloys was driving northbound on FM 1626 at the time.

Bloys remains in critical condition at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin. Critical condition means that vital signs are unstable and not within normal limits.

Botello was treated and released.

Brackenridge Hospital is the only Level 1 Trauma Center in the Austin metropolitan region.

Department of Public Safety officer Wade Schooley continues his investigation into the accident. No further details were reported as of press time.
