Hemphill Farmer’s Market encourages healthy eating
As part of Hemphill Elementary School’s Healthy Campus Grant initiatives, the Hawks took part in learning activity, sampling a wide-ranging choice of healthy foods in the Hemphill Farmer’s Market recently. Students were introduced to veggies and fruits that begin with every letter of the alphabet ? from “Apricots” to Zucchini.” The Hawks chose some things they knew they liked and experimented with the taste and texture of something healthy they never tried before. It’s just another step in familiarizing students with the endless choices they have in setting a lifetime course of healthy eating.
