Kyle Police nab ‘most wanted sex offender’

Kyle police officers arrested a Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender on Tuesday after authorities received a motorist’s report of a man lying in the grass along Interstate 35.
Reynaldo Ybarra Zamora, 59, who the Department of Public Safety (DPS) has described as having a “violent criminal past and was wanted for aggravated kidnapping, burglary of a habitation and evading arrest/detention,” is in custody after police


found him walking along the northbound service road ofIH-35, according to DPS documents.
Zamora, who was considered a flight risk and armed and dangerous, was added to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders Program on June 13, according to DPS documents. Authorities were offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
On Sept. 8, 2009, the Travis County Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant for Zamora charging him with evading arrest. The Hays County Sheriff’s Office also issued multiple arrest warrants On Dec. 10, 2010, for incidents that occurred in 1986 and 1987, including kidnapping, burglary of a habitation and three counts of aggravated kidnapping, according to DPS records.
On Dec. 16, 2010, the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles issued a warrant for Zamora on a parole violation on an original kidnapping case. He was also charged with indecent exposure in Travis County, records show.
Kyle Police arrested Zamora without incident on Oct. 8 and officials said no reward will be paid as a result of his arrest, according to a DPS statement.
Hays County Jail records show Zamora is being held on a $505,000 bond.
So far this year, DPS and other agencies have arrested 29 Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives and Sex Offenders, including ten gang members. The Texas Governor’s Criminal Justice Division has paid out $71,500 in rewards for tips resulting in arrests, according to the DPS statement.
