Kindergarten students at Fuentes Elementary experimented with the effects of temperature on frozen solid mass by creating ice castles with a variety of containers – orange juice cartons, metal bowls, apple juice bottles, Styrofoam cups and even ice cube trays. They observed and drew what they saw at the beginning then returned a few hours later to see how the sun affected the ice. Some students got creative with food coloring. There was even a plastic dinosaur in one of the ice creations. (Photo by Kim Hilsenbeck)
