Halloween fun not over yet

The Pumpkin Patch is bare now; all the pumpkins have found a home for Halloween. Main Street Buda is a little bit quieter, too, after Saturday night’s Boo-da Halloween event. Hundreds of costumed kids and parents enjoyed collecting treats from all the participating businesses.

More Halloween fun will be at the First Baptist Church of Buda on Halloween night from 6-7:30 p.m. All kids are invited to the Trunk-R-Treat and Fall Festival at the church located at 104 South San Marcos Street in Buda (two blocks behind Cleveland’s). There will be jumpy houses, free hot dogs, popcorn, cotton candy and fun carnival-type games and decorated car trunks for giving out candy.

The day after Halloween (Friday), Buda Dental Professionals at 220 Main Street in downtown Buda will “buy back” the candy between the hours of 3-6 p.m. Drop off your unopened candy and get $1 per pound. The candy will be shipped overseas to our military troops. Also enter your name in a drawing for a $100 Toys “R” Us gift card.

Starting Friday, Nov. 1 through Nov. 22, Little Bluebird (Buda’s newest shop) and Old Main Street Station in downtown Buda will collect canned food for the Buda United Methodist Church Food Pantry.  Please help fill our containers that will be placed in front of the shops at the corner of Main and RR 967 at the signal light.

Members of Onion Creek Senior Citizens Center and the Buda Bees will host their first Quilt Show and Christmas Bazaar in their new activity center on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 8 and 9 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day. There will be many beautiful quilts on display, a demonstration of quilting, Christmas gifts and decorations, soup and sandwich lunch along with delicious desserts and drinks.  The senior center is located two blocks off Main Street and FM 2770 at 420 Barton’s Crossing. Admission is free for the two-day event…y’all come.
