We, in the city, are blessed with two very worthy candidates in the runoff contest for our City Council from which we must choose. I encourage you to step up the plate and exercise your right and responsibility to vote your choice of these two candidates. Vote early so that “things don’t get in the way.”
My choice is for that candidate who has proven to have a great interest in all citizens of Kyle in his willingness to serve serve on a committee which was directed by the City Council to develop a plan which would allow better mobility of our citizens. This committee studied the traffic problems within the City for many months and presented to the Council a plan which was acceptable to the Council. You and I, by a vote of 70% for and 30% against, gave the City Council the authority to build and upgrade five greatly needed streets which will vastly ease our travels about town. This will be a very expensive undertaking which will require supervision by Council,Staff and last but the most important group – THE TAXPAYERS. We the taxpayers must have someone on the Council who will watch this project and all other actions of the City with a knowledge of building processes, understanding of cost control, ability to make the proper contract with the right contractor to accomplish our goal and the same time, see that there is quality and dignity in all transactions; a person who will work toward “Getting the most BANGS for our BUCKS.” The Lord knows we are all burdened with a heavy tax load.
