Thank you Buda city officials for recognizing that not everyone wants to have their hearing damaged by music from the two new establishments on Main Street. Since the liquor-law passed, I’ve enjoyed eating & drinking at Clevelands and Tavern on Main, but I don’t like having to yell at my companions when the speakers are turned up too loud.
Owners of both bars now claim that keeping the sound below a factory floor or vacuum cleaner level (80 decibels) will ruin their businesses and push people into Austin. GMAB. I’ve lived a short ways outside of Buda for 10 years and there’s never been much going on downtown after dark anyway, so why should these newbies be allowed to disturb the late night peace of the homeowners who live nearby. Be a considerate neighbor and you just might end up with more business.
Pam Nelson,
Buda
