The Lord called home another angel, Edna Dell Burns, age 77, on Oct. 26, 2013. She was born July 10, 1936 in Booneville, Arkansas. Edna is survived by her husband, Louis Porter Burns and daughter Melissa Blair (Mike). Retiring after many years as a telephone operator with Southwestern Bell, she served 17 years as her church’s secretary. Edna enjoyed playing the piano and organ. Singing was also a passion whether at home or in church. No longer in pain, ever at peace with her Lord, she is now singing in God’s heavenly choir.
Edna was loved and will be missed by many. Memorials can be sent to First Baptist Buda building fund, 104 S. San Marcos St. Buda, TX 78610.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Avenue in Austin. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013 at First Baptist Church, Buda. Interment will follow at Live Oak Cemetery.
