Let the Halloween fun begin

What a welcome sight it is to see lots of water in Onion Creek and everything looking so clean and green.

Spookpeno was the name of the game played Friday night and attended by 19 “witches” at the home of Rebecca Acosta-Ojeda. Friends of Ojeda’s came in costume for this annual Halloween event and all had a super good time.

Carrying on the Halloween upcoming events will be the annual Fall Carnival at Buda Elementary School on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 2 until 6 p.m. The carnival is sponsored by the Buda Elementary School PTA and will be on the upper campus of the school. This year there will be many fun games, food trailers, face painting, a bounce house, balloon animals and photo booth.

•••

Also on the same day, the annual Boo-da Halloween Trick or Treat along Main Street will be held in downtown Buda from 5 to 7 p.m. The Buda Downtown Merchants sponsor the event in which the local merchants hand out treats in front of their storefronts and other businesses set up on the greenbelt around the library for all the little spooks.

•••

The Pumpkin Patch is still open for business on North Main where pumpkins of all sizes and shapes can be found for adding to the Halloween season.

•••

Again this year the folks at Buda Professional Dental will “buy back” all that candy on Friday, Nov. 1. Stop by the dental office and get paid for your collection of treats.

Birthday wishes go out to eight-year-old Mikayla Rose Verver on Oct. 18; Katherine Callan on Oct. 19; Nancy Morgan on Oct. 22; Commissioner Mark Jones and Ramon Jimenez on Oct. 23.

Do you have a quilt that you would like to display at the Quilt Show and Christmas Bazaar on Nov. 8 and 9 sponsored by the Onion Creek Senior Center in Buda? For entry forms and more information, contact Sharron at 512-755-3612 or Linda at 512-295-5726. Deadline for entry is Tuesday, Oct. 22
