Gettin’ buzzed for da TA-TAs
Lehman High School’s Student Counsel and HOSA are hosting “Gettin’ buzzed for da TA-TAs” in honor of Yvette Sutten, Health Science Technology teacher at the school. Every 13 minutes a woman dies from breast cancer, so every 13 minutes they will shave a head. For each student who get his/her head shaved this Friday, a $25 donation will go toward helping to pay for a mammogram for women who cannot afford one. Participants can get their head shaved with support of sponsors, donate $25 and/or purchase a THINK PINK T-shirt (all profits go toward the cause). Counselor Karin Prado will accept donations. Sutten said she is not alone in her fight against cancer. She added, “It was a mammogram that saved my life.”
