John Anderson, 91, of Temple died, Sunday, June 23, 2013, in a Temple hospital.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 26, from 6-8 p.m. at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple, with Funeral Services at the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 27. Burial will held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 28, at Uhland Live Oak Cemetery in Uhland.
Mr. Anderson was born on February 9, 1922 in Nachitoches, La. He grew up in Midfield and served as an Army Air Corps pilot in World War II and the Korean Conflict. John was a business owner, general contractor, land developer and rancher. In the late 1970’s, he developed Mountain City Oaks subdivision.
His greatest joy was in the years spent serving God in Lay Witness Missions. He was also a teacher of the Word of God.
John is survived by his wife of 70 years, Billie Nell Roberts Anderson, along with his three children, nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-granchildren.
