As promised, I canvassed all of the candidates vying for the Buda City Council positions during this election, November 5, 2013, regarding your wishes to sponsor a Buda Chamber of Commerce Forum where you would screen questions from guests to the candidates. During my survey of all candidates, only two said they would be attending; the four other candidates said they will not be attending.
Several of the candidates prefer a broader section of the public for a candidate forum. Wednesday night is not a good night as some of the candidates and potential voters attend church services every Wednesday night.
I will try to organize a discussion with all six candidates in the very near future to discuss a format and a venue. Your help in recruiting the Chamber of Commerce members to attend would help. We could probably use your resources to help us advertise the new forum once we know the date, time, and place.
