Local election results in: Kyle city council not settled, Kanetzky wins Hays CISD board spot, ESD 8 Prop 1 is a go

Staff Report

Election results for several local races and propositions are in, even if unofficially.

The Kyle City Council District 3 seat remains in the air; no candidate reached the 50-plus percent victory threshold. A necessary runoff election will include Joe Bacon and Chad Benninghoff, according to Hays County Elections Administrator Joyce Cowan.

Kyle voters passed the $36 million road bond by a huge margin with 560 in favor, 243 against.

Incumbent Marty Kanetzky was reelected to the District 5 seat on the Hays CISD school board with 300 votes. Challenger Debbie Munoz brought in 197 votes.

Proposition 1 in the Hays County Emergency Services District 8 passed with a 78-33 vote.
