Laverne Thayer, 81, of Buda passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2013. She was born May 30, 1932 in Galveston, TX to Opal and Raven Sachtleben. Laverne and her husband, Edison, would have celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on August 11.
She was predeceased by her parents, her older brother, Raven, Jr., younger brother, Billy, son, Jim Thayer, granddaughter, Hayley Polson, and great grandson, Baby Dave Lopez.
Laverne is survived by Edison, her sister, Susie (Jim) Pace of Conroe and four more children, Marilyn Basham, Rick (Sharon) Thayer, Tracy (John) Mangione, Nancy Thayer and 13 more grandchildren; Billy (Addie), Mike and Leah Thayer, Chelsea Tierno, Victoria, Cortney, Roy and Deano Thayer, Whitney (John) Denham and Wyatt Polson, Kyle and Rocco Mangione, and Jeanette DeLeon. She also leaves behind seven great-grandchildren.
Laverne was very fond of her three dogs, Skipper, Missy and Phoebe. Her greatest joy was spending time with her loving family. Her infectious sense of humor and fun-loving ways will be greatly missed
A memorial service will be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity, the Arthritis Foundation or your local animal shelter
