Veterans Day weekend started with a big band for several Mountain Citians who attended the 20th Annual Veterans Day Hangar Dance at a World War II-era hangar at San Marcos Airport. While Ron & I searched for our table, we ran into Trudy and Russell Hayter sitting just near the edge of the dance floor and a few minutes later we saw Skip and Becky Brownlow near the far edge of the dance floor.
We never saw Laura and Marc Craig, and they didn’t see us. Laura saw our photos on Facebook.

An “honorable mention” in the 1940s costume contest came back to Mountain City. Marley Brownlow, the Brownlow’s granddaughter (daughter of Jeremy and Brandi) and Analiese Wensmann, granddaughter of Janet and Myron Pulfrey, wow’d the judges.
Ron wore a uniform with his dad’s WWII name tag, ribbons, and rank and his own Bronze Star.
A belated “thank you for your service” to all the many veterans living in Mountain City.
