The Lehman Lobos faced off against the Kerrville-Tivy Antlers at Lehman High School. The Lobos ended up on the losing side of this affair with a final score of 11-3.
Tivy jumped on the Lobos early by getting runners in scoring position with timely hitting and scoring them with consecutive squeeze bunts. Tivy got up early and never looked back. The Lobos never got closer than two runs.
The first run for the Lobos was scored off of a double by Jacob Urea to put the Lobos only down four in the bottom of the third. The other two runs were scored on an error by the Tivy shortstop in the bottom of the fifth to make it 5-3 and that’s as close as the Lobos would get. Tivy scored six more runs – four in the sixth inning and two in the seventh – to make the final score 11-3.
Lehman falls to 12-13 overall (4-6 in district). The next game for the Lobos is against Lockhart on Friday in Lockhart.
