Edwin Bacon Jacobson (2013)

On Palm Sunday, March 24, 2013, at the age of 68, Edwin Bacon Jacobson of Buda passed away at the V.A. Hospital in Temple, Texas.  After a fierce battle with cancer, for a year, our Lord came and took his suffering away.


Edwin (“Jake”) graduated high school from St. Edwards High in 1963. Jake was inducted in the United States Army, Oct. 1965, where he served in Vietnam in communications.  Jake was honorably discharged in October 1971.


Jake’s life was full of family and good friends. He is survived by his beloved mother Ruth Elizabeth Warren (Jacobson) Martin, his devoted sister Myrtle Ruth (Martin) Wagner; five sons (Christopher Jacobson and Josephine of St Petersburg, Florida, Mathew Jacobson and Peggy of Lebanon, Indiana, Roderick (Rod) Jacobson and Annette of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Justin Jacobson and Tammy of Austin. and Jonathan Jacobson of Lubbock, three step children: Thomas, Nona and Misty, plus several grandchildren and one great grandchild.


He was preceded in death by (biological father) Lawrence Jacobson, Jake’s dad Billy Alton Martin, great grandbaby August James and stepson Lewis.


Jake was a sports enthusiast, passionate about car racing, and a self-taught guitar player. He loved his children and grandchildren whole-heartedly. He was so proud of his children and will be watching them from heaven every day. Jake will be greatly missed and loved by many, but will always be with us in our hearts and memories.


Services are as follows: Santa Cruz Catholic Church, Buda, Texas, April 20. Rosary in the little chapel at 10 a.m.


Celebration of Edwin’s life April 20, 2013 at Sister’s house noon-2 p.m.


April 29, 2013, Mass at Santa Cruz Catholic Church in the little chapel at 3:45 p.m.
