Clarence “Jake” Willard Jacobson (ca.1940-2013)

On June 12, 2013 at the age of 73, Clarence “Jake” Willard Jacobson passed away peacefully in the arms of his wife and surrounded by his family and friends.

He was a proud south Austin native and Travis High School Rebel. After graduating high school, he honorably served in the US Military, after which he moved to Houston where he met the love of his life, Norma. On the third date he proposed, and the two were happily married for 43 years. Jake worked for 25 years in the auto parts business. He returned home to South Austin in 1983, when he and his family moved to Onion Creek and started a family business. Jake was a man of strong moral character, deep family values and profound faith. He never met a stranger and was loved and admired by all who had the opportunity of meeting him. His favorite past times were fishing, dove hunting, playing pool, poker, or just sitting back and drinking a beer.

Jake is survived by his wife, Norma; daughter Cheryl Keene and her husband Carl Cook of Liberty Hill; daughter Candace Jaeckle and her husband T.J. Jaeckle of Austin; daughter Chelsa Woods and her husband Adam Woods of Buda. He is also survived by his grandsons Cody Keene, Joseph Jaeckle and Jacob Woods.

Services were held at Santa Cruz Catholic Church in Buda on Saturday, June 15th.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to Santa Cruz Catholic Church Building Fund, 1100 Main Street, P O Box 187, Buda, TX 78610,[email protected].
