Mostly good news from Buda

By Sandra Grizzle.

The first annual Quilt Show and Christmas Bazaar held at the Onion Creek Senior Activity Center last Friday and Saturday was a huge success thanks to all the senior volunteers and all the folks who visited. More than $3,000 was made at the two-day event.

The wonderful news from Houston on Saturday was that Landon Tyner received the much needed heart transplant. Prayers continue for his full recovery and that he will be back home very soon.

Our prayers also go out to Tiber and Monty Nunneley who lost their Leisurewoods home to a fire on Saturday. As always our community is coming together to help this wonderful couple.

Baby Colin Anthony Abein arrived Sunday at 7:0l p.m. on just the right date, Nov. 3, which is the wedding anniversary of his parents, Glenn and Cassie Knapp-Abein. Seven-year-old sister Bella is delighted with her new baby brother who weighed a healthy nine pounds, nine ounces and was 20-3/4 inches.

Three Carpenter Hill Elementary second grade students participated in their first 1K run at the Snake Bite 5K fundraiser in San Marcos last Saturday. Placing first was Garison Grizzle. His brother Grant took second place and Gus Stefani was 17th. Congratulations, boys, on a good run.

Anniversary wishes go out to long time Buda residents, Audrey and Bob Elder, on Thursday, November 21.
