Hays CISD board meeting
The workshop meeting of the Hays CISD Board of Trustees takes place beginning at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 9 in the Technology Building at Hays High School. On the agenda that night is the presentation from the Growth Impact Committee to recommend a $59.3 million bond that includes a new middle school.
Gifted and Talented referrals
The Hays CISD middle and high school campuses will accept referrals for gifted and talented services from December 2-17, 2013. Check with your child’s teacher for more information.
2013 Coats for Kids Distribution Day
Families in need of winter coats for children can attend the annual Coats for Kids distribution from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 14 at the Palmer Events Center in Austin. To receive a coat, a child must be 18 years of age or younger and must show proof of both age and family income. Acceptable forms of proof of age include government issued ID cards, birth certificate, CHIP card, school ID with picture, or medical/immunization record. Examples of proof of income include enrollment in free/reduced lunch program, WIC card, CHIP card, Medicaid Card, MAP card or Lonestar Debit Card. Parents or guardians without children present on distribution day must show proof of child’s birth in addition to proof of income. There is a limit of six coats per household.
HHS Rebels Holiday Fundraiser
Come support the Hays Rebels baseball and softball programs at the second annual Holiday Fundraiser. Takes place from 4-9 p.m. Dec. 14 at the Hays High cafeteria.
