The pumpkins have arrived in Buda and thanks to members of the Hays Varsity Football team; hundreds of pumpkins of all sizes and shapes were unloaded in record time. The “Patch” is located at 824 Main Street (same as last year) next to the PQ Real Estate office. Stop by for the perfect one and remember the camera for the photos.

Rain or shine there will be an indoor garage sale at the Onion Creek Senior Citizens Center at 420 Barton’s Crossing in Buda on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 7:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. This is a multi-area sale with hundreds of items from community residents. Come by to check out the treasures and also purchase a King Ranch chicken casserole and have a sausage wrap for lunch.

This Saturday is Buda’s Clean Up Day. Items can be dropped off at the clean-up site located off Garison Road behind Buda City Park. No tires, batteries, oil, paint, toxins or Freon appliances will be accepted. Remember to bring your city utility bill or Texas driver’s license showing your Buda address.

Birthday wishes go out to a young 80-year-old Rita Durham on Oct. 1, four-year-old twins, Deborah and Karen Lecklider, Sue Verver, Anna DePenning and Craig Hernandez on October 2; five-year-old Eden Jones, Leanna Holloway Johnson and Sylvia Rodriquez on October 3, Coach Bobby Shelton on October 4; and Susie Bishop on October 9.

Coming up on Saturday, Oct. 12, the Onion Creek Senior Citizens will sponsor a free health fair from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at 420 Barton’s Crossing in Buda. There will be good information as well as flu shots, screenings and more.

Time to get the costumes ready for the 11th annual Boo-Da Halloween that will be Saturday, Oct. 26, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. The local businesses on Main Street will be open and ready to give out treats as well as other businesses that will set up on the Greenbelt. This event is always a fun, family time, so don’t miss it.
