This Christmas, tablet devices and e-readers are more popular than ever. As the technology has improved, reading on these attractive units has become easier, prices have come down, and even the most reluctant among us are reconsidering. But don’t forget one of their most wonderful and least known benefits – you can check out ebooks from your local library on them!
That’s right, whether you have a Kindle, Nook, iPad, or Android tablet you can check out ebooks and audiobooks from the Buda Library and never even leave your house. Browse through fiction, nonfiction, teen, and children’s titles and check out up to five titles at a time. These items will remain on your device for two weeks and then be automatically “returned” for you. You’ll find more detailed information and instructions on the library’s website at budalibrary.org in the Overdrive section of the eShelf & Research tab.
Android and iPad users will also enjoy using the Zinio app to download and read magazines in beautiful, crisp detail. Choose from a wide range of magazines covering many diverse interests. New titles will be added periodically. Learn more on the library’s website in the Zinio section of the eShelf & Research tab.
As always, if you have questions or need help getting set up, just visit the library and one of the amazing staff members will assist you. Get the most out of your new device and get connected with the Buda Library...and a new world of books!
