Red, White & Buda is coming to town on July 4 in celebration of Independence Day. A parade down Main Street starts at 9 a.m. (line up at 8:30 a.m. near Garcia’s) and travels to Buda City Park for activities such as bounce houses, an obstacle course and slip-n-slide from 9 until 11 a.m. A giant fireworks show at City Park will light up the Buda sky after dark.

It’s casino time Saturday night at the Onion Creek Senior Citizens Center. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for check in and games begin at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $25 which includes games, food and drinks. Proceeds will benefit the new senior center located at 420 Bartons Crossing in Buda.
The newest activity at the Onion Creek Senior Center in Buda is dancing on Monday afternoons from 1 to 2 p.m. Join the group for a little country and western and more. For more information contact John Lemmerman at 512-295-0344.

So sorry to report that Amy Crockett will be closing the doors to her Yellow Sweater Knitting Parlor as of Friday, June 28. Amy had such a nice homey shop and was such an asset to our Main Street businesses. You will be missed.

Karen Iverson was in town last week visiting some of her long time friends and later in the week they all went to Port Aransas for a little beach time. The Iversons lived in Buda for several years when Rich Iverson was pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, now Good Shepherd Ministries. The Iversons now live in Minnesota.
