DRIPPING SPRINGS -- Eight Dripping Springs High School (DSHS) soccer players were recognized as All-State performers by the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches.
Midfielder Avery Davis, goalkeeper Caroline Dill, defender Rylie Flores and forward Sofia Picucci were selected to the All-State First Team after earning the Lady Tigers their first state title in program history with a 27-1-1 record. They were also named to the UIL State All-Tournament Team and Dill was named MVP for her performance in the state championship team.
Head Coach Bailee Perrine and Assistant Coach Kim Harlow were named the Region IV-5A Head Coach and Assistant Coach of the Year.
Defender Jair Ortega headlined DSHS boys’ all-state selections by receiving first-team honors; midfielder Adam Knutson and forward Ethan Roberts were selected to the second team, while forward Gabe Molander earned honorable mention. The Tigers advanced to the regional semifinals with a 23-1-3 record this season.
Bill Kiaune was named the Region IV-5A Assistant Coach of the Year to round out the honorees.
