Lehman shuts out Clemens 4-0

by ROBERT WHITMER

It was a shutout night for the Lehman Lobos as they defeated the Clemens Buffaloes 4-0 Tuesday at their home field. The win belonged to the masterful pitching of Hunter Lehman and the power hitting of Jacob Urea.

It was a breezy night at Lehman as Hunter Lehman took the mound. He was looking to improve on his 6-1 record and 1.56 ERA to go along with his 79 strikeouts for the year.  And improve he certainly did.  Hunter only allowed three hits and no runs to the visiting Clemens players and added nine strikeouts to his total for the season.

The boost for the team came from their number two hitter in the lineup – Jacob Urea.  Urea came into the game hitting .271 with one home run and 10 RBIs for the season.

Tuesday proved to be a night that he would certainly add to those numbers.  Urea racked up four RBIs as he drove in all the runs the Lobos scored for the evening as he hit two two-run home runs.  He also increased his batting average to .284 by going 2-3 at the plate.

The Lobos just seemed to be on their game tonight.  They never looked back after the three-up three-down top of the first inning and the Urea two-run shot in the bottom of the first.  It was all smooth sailing after that.

The Lobos increase their record to 13-14 (5-7 in district).  Their next game is April 26 against Boerne Champion.  The Lobos will look to avenge the loss that Chargers gave them in their March game.
