Buda Elementary Carnival this weekend


The annual Buda Elementary School PTA carnival takes place this weekend. Families can enjoy games, food trailers, face painting, a bounce house, balloon animals and a photo booth. The carnival runs from 2-6 p.m. Oct. 26 at the upper campus.



Veterans Programs to be held around Hays CISD


Carpenter Hill Elementary


Fifth grade students at Carpenter Hill will recognize friends and family of CHES students who are currently serving in the United States Military. They will call out the names during the Veteran’s Day program on Nov. 11 at 8 a.m., 8:55 a.m. and again at 6:30 p.m.


Fuentes Elementary


On Nov. 12, second and third graders at Fuentes will honor veterans in a salute to America. Event takes place at 6:30 p.m. at the Hays CISD Performing Arts Center. It is free and open to the public. 



Hays CISD school board business meeting Monday


The Hays CISD Board of Trustees will hold its monthly business meeting beginning at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 28 at the Hays High School Technology Building.



Five new Green Ribbon campuses for Hays CISD


Green Ribbon Awards by the U.S. Department of Education, go to schools that show exemplary work in reducing environmental impact and costs, improving the health and wellness of students and staff and providing effective environmental and sustainability education, which incorporates STEM, civic skills and green career pathways. Hays CISD congratulates eight campuses for earning the distinction. 


Three schools from last year, Fuentes Elementary, Negley Elementary, and Simon Middle School, join five new campuses this year: Carpenter Hill Elementary, Camino Real Elementary, Tobias Elementary, Barton Middle School, and Live Oak Academy.
